trên thực nghiệm EVALUATING THE ANTI-RESPIRATORY INFLAMMATORY EFFECTS OF THANH KIM HOA DOM THANG IN EXPERIMENT
Main Article Content
Abstract
Objectives: To evaluate the anti-respiratory inflammatory effects of Thanh kim hoa dom thang in experiment.
Subjects and method: Eighty healthy Wistar rats (both gender), weighing 180-200 g, were used. The animals were divided into two experimental models: (1) pharyngitis induced by capsaicin (40 rats), and (2) pneumonia induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) (40 rats).
Results: Thanh kim hoa dom thang at doses of 12.1 g/kg/24 h and 24.2 g/kg/24 h demonstrated an anti-pharyngitis effect in a rat model of capsaicin-induced pharyngitis, significantly reducing Evans blue dye extravasation in the inflamed pharyngeal tissues (p<0.05 compared with the untreated control group). At the same doses, the formula also exhibited anti-pneumonia activity in a lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced pneumonia model, specifically by reducing pulmonary edema as indicated by the lung wet/dry weight ratio, alleviating histopathological lung injury, and decreasing systemic inflammation through the reduction of serum C-reactive protein levels. Moreover, it decreased the levels of protein, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) activity, NOx, and total cell counts in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid.
Conclusion: Thanh kim hoa dom thang demonstrated anti-pharyngitis and anti-pneumonia effects in experiments.
