Main Article Content
Abstract
Objectives: Describe pain symptoms in the first three days after surgery of patients undergoing laparoscopic surgery and atrial septal defect and analyze some factors related to the patient's pain.
Subjectsand methods: Prospective descriptive study (follow-up day 1, day 2, day 3) on 37 patients undergoing
endoscopic atrial septal defect surgery with regional anesthesia aged 18 years and older at the Heart Institute. pulse in Vietnam from November 2018 to September 2019. Patients were assessed for pain by the VAS scale.
Results: The male/female ratio was 2/3, the mean age was 37.8 ± 13.2 (age). The average pain level of patients decreased from 3.62±0.82 (1st day), 2.27±0.45 (2nd day), 1.73±0.51 (3rd day) (p <0.001). Day 1, 56.8% little pain, 40.5% moderate pain, 2.7% very painful. Day 2, 100% pain less. Day 3, 29.7% pain-free, 70.3% little pain. 100% of patients have pain in the right rib cage, right lower quadrant. The incidence of neck pain decreased from 89.2% on day 1 to 8.1% on day 2 and 0.0% on day 3. The incidence of pain between the shoulder blades was 59.5% (day 1), 37 .8% (day 2) and 29.7% (day 3). The pain level of women is higher than that of men, students higher than workers, farmers, patients with late extubation (6h-24h) higher than early extubation (<6h), patients with no explanation for pain during and after surgery were higher than patients fully explained. enough, the above differences were statistically significant with p < 0.05.
Conclusion: Most of the patients' pain level was moderate or lower and gradually decreased in 3 days after surgery (p<0.001). Some common pain locations are left ribs, left lower ribs, neck. There are factors related to pain level with gender, occupation, intubation time, which can explain preoperative pain.
