Results of inguinal hernia treatment with the lichtenstein method among elderly people in E hospital

Abstract
Objective: To describe the clinical features and indications for insertion of synthetic mesh, and evaluate outcomes of the treatment by synthetic mesh using Lichtenstein method among elderly with inguinal herniation at the E hospital.
Methods: This study applied a clinical intervention on 30 inguinal hernias patients aged over 60 who underwent Lichtenstein operation with synthetic mesh at the Department of General Surgery, E hospital, from June 2019 to June 2020.
Results: Postoperative pain, assessment of postoperative pain and pain relief are critical. Early complications included wound hematoma 3.3%, incision hematoma, wound infection 3.3%, and scrotum swelling 6.7%.
