Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the immune-enhancing effect and monitor the side effects of Linh Loc Son capsules on elderly diabetics.

Subjects and method: A clinical intervention trial was conducted with before and after-treatment comparisons.

Results: After 30 days of treatment using Linh Loc Son capsules, the patient's white blood cell count increased by 11.8% from 6.88±1.47 to 7.86±1.64. The number of neutrophils in the blood increased by 14.2% from 4.08±1.11 to 4.56±1.49. The number of Lymphocytes in the blood increased by 15% from 2.2±0.62 to 2.53±0.78. All of these changes were statistically significant with p < 0.05. After 30 days of treatment, the patient's Interleukin-2 (IL-2) concentration increased from 4,102 to 4,226. No clinical or paraclinical side effects of Linh Loc Son capsules were recorded.

Conclusion: Linh Loc Son capsules enhanced immunity by increasing the neutrophils, lymphocytes, and IL-2 indexes. No clinical or paraclinical side effects were recorded..
