Characteristics of type 2 diabete patients with impared renal function in Saint paul general hospital

Abstract
Objectives: To examine the clinical and subclinical characteristics of outpatients with type 2 diabetic nephropathy at the Medical examination department, Saint Paul General Hospital.
Subjects and methods: A cross-sectional retrospective study on patients with type 2 diabetic nephropathy was held based on collected information from the medical records. The research period was from January 2022 to May 2022.
Results: The mean age was 73.73 ± 8.79 years, in which 44.5% male and 55.5% female. 85.7% were retired and 58.8% patients had had diabetes for over 10 years. There were 78.8% patients with more than 3 comorbidities, mainly hypertension (96.6%) and dyslipidemia (97.5%). The subclinical characteristics included hyperglycemia (34.4%) and elevated HbA1C (24.0%). The major glomerular filtration rate at stage 3b was 42.9%.
Conclusion: Among 119 patients surveyed about demographic characteristics, clinical and subclinical characteristics, the majority of patients were elderly, retired officers, had diabetes for more than 10 years, and had comorbidities such as hypertension and dyslipidemia.
