Abstract

Objective: To evalute the treatment results of neck and shoulder pain due to cervical spondylosis using Cat can thang medicine combined with acupressure.

Subjects and methods: 81 patients diagnosed with neck and shoulder pain due to cervical spondylosis, longitudinal study, clinical intervention, comparison before and after treatment without control group.

Results: Using the herbal remedy Cat can thang combined with acupressure has the effect of improving pain symptoms according to VAS (the mean VAS score decreased from 6.77 ± 0.51 (points) before treatment to 1.78 ± 1.51 (points) after 28 days of treatment.), range of motion of 6 positions, and overall treatment effectiveness after 14 and 28 days of treatment (Good level reached 53.1%, fair 30.9%, average 16.0%, no patient rated the level of pain relief as poor).

Conclusion: Treatment of neck and shoulder pain due to cervical spondylosis with the herbal remedy Cat can thang combined with acupressure is highly effective in clinical practice.
