Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of On kinh phuong combined with electroacupuncture, massage and acupressure in treating neck pain due to cervical spondylosis.

Subjects and methods: 70 volunteered patients aged 40 and older, were diagnosed with neck pain due to cervical spondylosis, regardless of gender or occupation, participated in the study. 35 patients in the control group were treated electroacupuncture combined with massage and acupressure, 35 patients in the study group receiced the same treatment supplemented with On kinh phuong. The treatment duration was 21 days.

Results: The combination of On kinh phuong with electroacupuncture, massage and acupressure therapy proved effective in treating neck pain due to cervical spondylosis, with 88.6% of patients experiencing good to moderate improvement. Pain levels measured by the Visual Analog Scale (VAS), cervical spine range of motion and the Neck Disability Index (NDI) scored showed significant improvement compared to before treatment and compared to the control group, with the difference is statistically significant (p<0,05).

Conclusion: On kinh phuong combined with electroacupuncture, massage and acupressure is highly effective in treating neck pain due to cervical spondylosis.
