Thực trạng khám chữa bệnh bằng y học cổ truyền tại các trạm y tế xã huyện Bắc Hà, tỉnh Lào Cai, năm 2024

Abstract

Objectives: To describe the current state of medical examination and treatment using traditional medicine at 16 commune health stations in Bac Ha district, Lao Cai province, in 2024.

Subjects and methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on all patients seeking healthcare services at 16 commune health stations in Bac Ha district, Lao Cai province, from January 2024 to September 2024. Data sources included commune health station heads, healthcare staff directly involved in traditional medicine practices, and medical records.

Results: The rate of traditional medicine-based treatment was 1.2%, while the combination of traditional and modern medicine accounted for 53.5%. The most common conditions treated with traditional medicine were lower back pain (27.9%), headaches and insomnia (17.1%), and pharyngitis (16.6%). All patients were prescribed finished pharmaceutical products, while non-pharmacological methods were rarely used. The pharmaceutical products prescribed primarily belonged to groups treating cough, musculoskeletal disorders, and headaches/insomnia.

Conclusion: The use of traditional medicine and its combination with modern medicine was relatively high. Patients mainly relied on finished pharmaceutical products for treatment, with non-pharmacological methods being underutilized.
