Abstract

combination with acupressure in the treatment of sciatica.

          Subjects and methods: A prospective clinical study was conducted on 70 patients diagnosed with sciatica due to lumbar spine degeneration. All patients received treatment at the Cao Bang Provincial Hospital of Traditional Medicine and Rehabilitation, from April 2025 to October 2025.

          Results: Using Hoat lac chi thong medicated plaster combined with acupressure for 21 days reduced pain score by 69.7% according to VAS scale, Schober index increased by 14.7%, Lasègue index increased by 35.5% compared to D₀. The overall treatment results were 60% good, 37.1%, fair, and 2.9% average.

          Conclusion: Hoat lac chi thong medicated plaster combined with acupressure has the effect of reducing pain, increasing range of motion, and reducing nerve root compression.
