DISEASE PATTEMS OF INPATIENTS AT PHU THO PROVINCIAL HOSPITAL OF TRADITIONAL MEDICINE & REHABILITATION FROM 2020-2024

Abstract
Objective: To identify disease patterns according to ICD-10 among inpatients at the Traditional Medicine and Rehabilitation Hospital of Phu Tho Province during 2020–2024.
Subjects and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive retrospective study was conducted medical records and statistical reports of inpatient cases during 2020 – 2024 at the Traditional Medicine and Rehabilitation Hospital of Phu Tho Province.
Results: The five most frequent disease groups among inpatients were: Musculoskeletal diseases: 73.47% (highest). Nervous system diseases: 11.59%. Diseases of the ear and mastoid process: 5.00%. Circulatory system diseases: 3.35%. Respiratory system diseases: 1.98%. The ten most common conditions treated on an inpatient basis in years with minimal fluctuation include: Sciatica, neck and shoulder pain, low back pain, adhesive capsulitis of the shoulder, hemiplegia, vestibular dysfunction, other forms of arthritis, knee osteoarthritis, Bell’s palsy, and hemorrhoids.
Conclusion: Inpatient caseload at the traditional medicine hospital is dominated by non-communicable, chronic conditions requiring rehabilitation and long-term care. This underscores the need to strengthen rehabilitation services, chronic care management, and resource planning.
