Abstract
Objectives: To vaildate a quantiative anlaysis procedure of mangostin in mangosteen fruit rind using UV-Vis methods.
Research method: Mangostin quantification by UV-VIS method based on mangostin's ability to absorb
ultraviolet light and conduct method appraisal according to AOAC standards in 2016.
Results: Determining the mangostin content in mangosteen shells is 9.82 ± 0.23% under optimal extract conditions: Ethanol solvent, extracted by ultrasound method at 60⁰C, during the time 60 minutes, the ratio of material-solvent: 1/20 (g/ml), extracted 3 times and proceeded with tannin map with gelatin ratio of 7.5g/l. Conducting the appraisal of the method that meets the requirements of an analytical method: In the surveyed concentration range (2, 4, 8, 16, 20 µg/ml), R2 = 0.9992; LOD = 0.1187 µg/ml; LOQ = 0.3955 µg/ml; RSD <2.7% and the recall in the rangle of 97 - 103%.
