Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the hepatoprotective effects of GM Tue Tinh extract in experimental models.

Subjects and methods: The hepatoprotective effect of GM Tue Tinh extract was evaluated using a carbon tetrachloride (CCl₄)-induced liver injury model in Swiss albino mice.

Results: GM Tue Tinh extract at doses of 2.4 g/kg/day and 7.2 g/kg/day significantly reduced AST and ALT enzyme activities compared to the pathological control group. At the higher dose, enzyme activities decreased more markedly than at the lower dose, with a statistically significant difference (p<0.05). Both doses also reduced MDA levels and increased GSH levels compared to the pathological control group, with statistically significant differences (p<0.05).

Conclusion: GM Tue Tinh extract at both doses demonstrated hepatoprotective effects by reducing serum ALT and AST levels, lowering MDA levels, and increasing GSH levels in a CCl₄-induced liver injury model in Swiss albino mice.
