Study on microscopic characteristics of species belong to paris l in Vietnam
Main Article Content
Abstract
Objectives: To build a data set on microscopic characteristics of 7 species belong to Paris genus in Vietnam.
Subjects and methods: Samples of 7 species belong to Paris L. genus collected in some provinces from the North to the Central of Vietnam were used to identify their scienticfic name by morphological analysis. Using microscopy technique for analyzing and describing anatomical structures and crude drug powder characteristics.
Results: Microscopic characteristics of 7 Paris L. species collected in Vietnam (P. caobangensis Y.H.Ji, H.Li & Z.K.Zhou, P. cronquistii (Takht.) H.Li., P. dunniana H.Lév., P. vietnamensis (Takht) H.Li, P. xichouensis (H.Li) Y.H.Ji, H.Li & Z.K.Zhou, P. yunnanensis Franch., P. chinensis Franch.) have been described including anatomical structures of leave, stem, rhizome, adventious root and crude drug powder. The identification key to distinguish crude powders of these species has been established.
Conclusions: 7 Paris L. species were identified based on characteristics of stem anatomical structure and microscopic characteristics of crude drug powder (rhizome) such as: unicellular protective hairs on cross section through stem, shape and size of starch grains, fragment of vessel types, length of raphides (crystals of calcium oxalate).
